ABOUT OMA LwM2M SVE #42

 

OMA is excited to announce the next LwM2M Specification Validation #42 Event (SVE#42) to be held in Dusseldorf, Germany, on October 28-31, 2024. Member organization Cumolocity will be hosting this SVE#42 at their facilities. OMA SpecWorks invites both members and non-members to participate in the validation and verification of the LwM2M Open Protocol for clients and servers. This event will focus on connecting systems, equipment, and operations to support M2M and IoT use cases across various industries, including industrial, utilities, and smart cities, and will feature focused testing on Firmware Over the Air (FOTA) functionality. We will work on LwM2M Client & Server implementations compliant with versions v1.0, v1.1, and v1.2.

WHO ATTENDS & FEES?

The event is open to both OMA members and non-members.

Non-members are welcome to participate but must have an active and approved implementation.

OMA SpecWorks is welcoming all to inquire and learn more about our membership and partnership opportunities as we ramp up and grow our community.

Fees for on-site attendees and all test participants (present and remote) will be $200.00 per person, and lunch and snacks will be provided during breaks.

Event  SCHEDULE. 

ACTIVITIES AT THE EVENT

Monday, October 28th, is dedicated to setting up testing environments and conducting initial test sessions 1 and 2.

From Tuesday to Thursday, October 29th to 31st, we will transition to full-scale production testing. Both on-site and remote testing options will be available.

Below is a brief list of the primary activities that take place at our OMA SVE LwM2M events:

  • Review, evaluate, test and validate participant implementations
  • Define new objects and test integration with back-end systems
  • Debug, discover, and work on interoperability and interchangeability
  • Collaborate, learn, and explore best practices for refining the LwM2M protocol
  • Explore use cases in IoT and M2M 
  • Compare and contrast with peers
  • Review of varying client/servers
  • Peer discussion and analysis 
  • Post Event product listing (If Needed)

There will be a social event for all attendees and the local Düsseldorf tech community to allow for networking with technology experts and thought leaders in the IoT, industrial, smart cities, and utilities sectors.

LwM2M v1.2 Test Cases

The Enabler Test Specification for SVE #42 is now available, detailed in the document titled OMA-ETS-LightweightM2M_INT-V1_X. This document includes a comprehensive set of new V1.2 test cases covering new LwM2M functionality.

This event will focus on connecting systems, equipment, and operations to support M2M and IoT use cases across various industries, including industrial, utilities, and smart cities. It will also feature focused testing on Firmware Over the Air (FOTA) functionality. More information soon ...
